Even though the rooms are small I found this to be one of the most thoughtfully planned hotel rooms I have stayed in. Beautifully decorated with ample lighting, comfortable bed, a desk, great toiletries and walk-in shower, and drawers underneath a long ottoman for storage. Great location with Starbucks around the corner. Front desk and concierge staff were quite helpful and friendly.

Very comfortable bed, Black out drapes and extremely quiet location next to Lincoln center and 4 blocks to 59th st subway. Eds chowder house is part of the property with great dinners and a good breakfast. The top of the Hotel offers a wonderful view of the city and a great place to have a drink and visit. Starbucks is also next door and the people at the Hotel were extremely gracious and accomodating. Central Park is a few blocks away with bike rentals at Columbus Circle. Nice neighborhood.

Good location and helpful staff. Room was great. Bed was comfortable and amenities good. Bathroom was small, but functional. My only complaint is that the bathroom sink is terrible.

My mother and I stayed at the Empire for four nights in September and all in all it was great. We had booked a standard twin room with two double beds but were told on arrival that all these types of rooms had sold out. Despite this the guy on the desk was very helpful and upgraded us to a larger suite instead. The room was very spacious and the beds themselves were incredibly comfortable. Additionally all the bed linen and all the towels were of very high quality so it made for a very comfortable stay. The hotel itself is in a great position. There is a Starbucks right outside the front door and the subway is a 2 min walk away. The hotel is very convenient for exploring the Upper East Side, Central Park and Uptown in general. Though it`s not quite as polished as other hotels I`ve stayed in in NY, such as the Hudson, Royalton and 60 Thompson etc.. it is well priced, excellently located and all in all good value. I`d recommend it!
