Located in the Flatiron District of New York, the Gershwin Hotel is within walking distance to Union Square, the Empire State Building, Chelsea, and Times Square. The lobby was renovated in 2003, and much of the original art remains. Each of the 13 floors at the Gershwin Hotel boasts its own installation of original art from renound modern artists. The hotel also hosts an "Artists in Residence" program, which supplies upcoming artists with a place to live, work and exhibit their art. Standard guestrooms are clean and bright, with modern art themed wall murals and modern takes on hotel furnishings. Guestrooms include hair dryer, hardwood floors, in-room safes, an iron/board and newspaper service available upon request. The Gershwin Hotel offers business services, discount parking and 24-hour accesss to a full service fitness center. Wireless Internet access is available throught the hotel.

Good for young people on a budget

My Husband and I stayed here at the last minute. The price was good, but this is not a hotel for a romantic getaway. I would suggest this hotel for young people on a budget

Easy to get to Midtown

When I arrived at the hotel it took the front desk a little time to find by reservation. Once that was straightened out the rest of the stay was fine. Location worked out for my midtown meetings

We booked this hotel because of the great $139 price. If the price is right we would return. Rooms are nothing special but it was fine for the night.

For the price , this hotel was wonderful. The rooms are a bit run down, but clean. I loved the eclectic Warhol obsessed decor. The staff is friendly and as attentive as I needed them to be. The coffee shop down stairs had great coffee, waffles, salads, and sandwiches. There aremany other options if you walk into gramercy or union square. If you are neat freak or a diva. This is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a comfortable , inexpensive place to stay, while you enjoy the city, I enthusiasticly recomend the Gershwin. Also quickbook saved me about two hundred and fifty dollars off my 8 day stay. And the customer service was very good.
