The James New York is located in downtown Manhattan in Soho. Tribeca, Little Italy, Chinatown, the Lower East Side and Greenwich Village are all within walking distance of the hotel. This sleek hotel features exquisite design and a wide array of personalized comforts. The Sky Lobby welcomes guests on the 3rd floor with the feel of a luxurious private living room. In Spring 2011, The James will feature a private pool with spa cabanas and a bar with indoor and outdoor seating. There’s a lush urban garden and unique spaces for meetings and conferences, plus a fitness center and a business center. High-speed and Wi-Fi service is complimentary. Sleek guestrooms feature spectacular city views, spacious baths and conveniences such as iPod docking stations, stereo sound and refrigerators. Jimmy, the new rooftop lounge promises a year-round rooftop experience that embraces all seasons. During the warm weather months, the bar atmosphere will spill out onto the roof deck, boasting another fireplace, surrounded by three lounging beds and several chaise lounges, as well as the most unfettered views found anywhere in downtown Manhattan. Although it’s located on the rooftop, Jimmy will have a separate entrance at 15 Thompson Street. Celebrity Chef David Burkes restaurant focuses on wholesome and hearty modern American food, locally sourced and presented in the creative and whimsical style that is Burkes trademark. The interior is inspired by the surrounding Soho neighborhood, blending the cool, industrial simplicity of an airy loft with the rustic warmth of a country barn. The Treehouse Bar, overlooking the garden, is also available for drinks and light fare. David Burke Kitchen will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner daily as well as weekend brunch. In-room dining menu will also be provided from David Burke Kitchen. There are also many fine restaurants within walking distance.

Location is easy walking distance to lower Manhattan from China Town and South Street Seaport in the East to the riverside walks along the Hudson to the West, Wall Street in the South and check out the expanded Highline Park to the west. And for shopping

Staff were friendly and eager to please. No hipper than thou attitude. Lots of light throughout the hotel but window shades kept it dark in the morning. Interior decor was cool but warm.
