We came to NY for three nights but had to stay at the airport the first night because the prices in Manhattan were too high. There is no train to take you in to NY but there are plenty of cabs that charge about $30. There is nothing to do at the hotel so

I Stayed overnight the night before an early AM flight. Hotel shuttle got me to the airport on time. Hotel is on the other side of the Grand Central Parkway so it was only about 15 minutes travel time but leave extra time for yourself in case of traffic.
