Latham Hotel Georgetown

Great Georgetown location recommends this throwback. If you don`t know DC well be advised that Georgetown is a great tourist spot, but it is a little off the beaten path as fasr as monuments, etc. It is only a mile or so to the Mall, but there is NO METRO ACCESS. They do have a couple of different bus connector services that can get you to the Metro and major sights. That said, if you are in Georgetown, this is a great spot. The hotel is under/behind La Madeline bakery and cafe. It has a nice off-street cul de sac with benches which is sheltered from M Street. You are a block from the Four Seasons and only two blocks from the bridge to Foggy Bottom, and in the other direction only four blocks (which can be walked among M Streets shops or along the quiet canal) from Wisconsin Street. One thing that really recommends this hotel if you are traveling with your family is that it has a pool. For us, it was GREAT, because the fireworks over July 4th were visible as we swam. Rooms range from tight to windowless to two-story suites with loft bedrooms. The "Village" area of the hotel is below-grade, so rooms have no windows. Many of these rooms have a living room with foldout, and the area is kind of Disney-fied to make it look like the street outside (hence the "Village" moniker). The rooms are dated, but they are also affordable. Wasn`t the cleanest place I`d stayed, but they were attentive. All in all, it is not a luxury experience, but I do think it is a pretty unbeatable value for Northwest DC (and especially Georgetown).

My stay was very pleasant. The staff was very courteous and welcoming. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping the rooms very clean and replenished items as needed.

Family of 2 adults and 2 children 4 + 9 from Denmark had a very pleasant stay at the Latham. Room not overly big, but quite alright for our needs (out all day sightseeing). Good beds and nice pool after a long hot day, and very attentive and prompt service from all staff. Would definitely recommend to others.

Tiny bathroom, no door between sink area and room, meaning use of bath area @ night will disturb ones partner. Essentially a well-appointed budget room. Nice lobby, excellent area for walking, dining, pubs, etc. Rather long but pleasant walk from Metro (city bus service available).

A great location and a very helpful syatff room was clean and comfortable

The hotel was quite nice - the room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. What struck me most about this hotel was how accommodating the staff was, the bellmen and desk staff were very pleasant.

Excellent location in heart of Georgetown. Nice room, if a bit jaded and in need of update. Free internet, which was useful. Helpful staff. Convenient to bus, which was a half block away.

Charming hotel- great staff and just a comfortable feel.Wish the overnight parking fee was less.

What once was a top hotel seems to be sliding, scuffed walls and torn wall paper, but still clean and cozy. A room issue was well handled by the staff.
