The Moderne combines the essence of an intimate European hotel with the glamour and style of a chic New York City townhouse. The hotel’s 37 sleek and sophisticated guestrooms provide an ultramodern interior, donning bold original abstract artwork, and each richly appointed guest room reflects the whimsical spirit of the 1950’s Color Field art movement. Sit by the fireplace in the communal lounge enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine while reading the latest news article on your iPad at one of the lounge terminals. The Deluxe guestroom has an ultramodern interior, featuring an oversized tufted white leather queen, king or 2 beds draped in extravagant Belgian linens, a polished stainless steel desk and a Charles Eames-inspired black and white woven carpet. All guestrooms are equipped with a 42 inch flat panel TV. The newly refurbished bathrooms will underscore the modern feel of the guestrooms with stainless steel tiles and a glamorous oversized backlit mirror. Lather Bath amenities are provided in each room. The hotel offers complimentary internet to all guest.

Great Room for Price

Great room for price, but worth booking only at bargain rate. Room really was small, even by NY standards -- but livable, clean, bathroom/shower all fine. Could be a tough stay for more than 2 nights, though. Location fantastic and staff excellent. Stay high up and on side/toward back to be away from nightclub -- excessively loud. Again, great deal at 115.

This hotel was just what we needed. Clean, very convenient to everything in midtown and staffed by helpful friendly people. The rooms are funky, small and simple. The library was a convenient gathering place.

For the first night they had given our room away, so we had to go to a partner hotel nearby. Next day we came back and enjoyed our stay. At the end they tried to get the money for 7 nights, but we had already paid the first night at the other hotel. So they had to charge one night back on my credit card. The hotel is very central to times square, broadway, central park... People are friendly and the room was ok.

Great service. Hotel staff very helpfull. Very good location. Only complaint would be that there is no available breakfast on property.

Room was clean, of average size, and the bed kingsize and comfortable. Bathroom well stocked with nice shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash. Location just off 8th Ave. at 55th St. and very convenient to Lincoln Center. I will definitely consider returning.
