The Pod Hotel is a modern boutique property located on the east side of Midtown Manhattan. Built more for speed than luxury, the hotel is a sleek exercise in efficiency, offering stylish furniture and surroundings that are designed to maximize comfort. Each Queen and Double room can accommodate up to two guests. Accommodations feature a streamlined workspace with a dimmer control light system, providing a place to think and write, while 15" LCD TVs, iPod docking stations, and free Wi-Fi offer a number of different ways to relax. Cleverly in-built storage drawers offer discrete storage for personal effects and an open closet is available to keep larger items out of the way. The glass enclosed private bathroom features a luxurious rain-head shower and a sleek stainless steel sink. Each room contains an in-room safe for valuables. Le Bateau Ivre is located at the base of the hotel and serves light French fare well into the night. The Pod Hotel guests can also enjoy several local and award-winning New York restaurants within walking distance.
PLEASE NOTE: The Pod Hotel gets its name from some of the smaller, shared bath, pod-like rooms that it offers. Quikbook does sell these rooms, along with the other room types that are slightly larger and feature private baths. So, to clarify, here is a breakdown of the room types:
-Twin - SHARED BATH (1 Person Max) is a pod-like room with no private bathroom and one single sized bed.
-Twin Bunk Beds - SHARED BATH (2 ppl Max) is a pod-like room with no private bathroom and two single sized bunk beds.
-Double Pod (2 ppl Max) is a slightly larger room and features a small private bathroom and a double size bed.
-Queen Pod (2 ppl max) can be slightly larger than the Double Pod room and features a small private bathroom and a queen size bed.

Absolutely terrific hotel. Room was small, but unbelievably efficient, with everything one needs close at hand. Great staff of helpful people. Terrific location--nice decor. I am sure that once the Pod Hotel gets discovered, we will never see it on Quikbook again...

The staff seemed nice and accommodating. There are plenty of quick food options in the area and the subway is only 2(ish) blocks away. This hotel was clean and made me super happy! It was cleaner than the other hotel I paid much more for earlier in the week. I had my own bathroom but wouldn`t mind using the shared since it looked pretty clean. I will suggest this to numerous friends that travel to the city. Id stay again too.

I love the Pod. The location is great (particularly if you are taking a train that comes into Penn Station), and the price is right (particularly through Quikbook). The single room is tiny, but darling, and the hotel has a low-key, but hip vibe, without being TOO hip or trying too hard. The shared bathroom system is actually very convenient (although the bathroom occupied indicators sometimes don`t work)and the bathrooms are close to the rooms, modern, and clean.

Good rooms, small but well designed. Helpful staff. Watch the cost of extras such as drinks at the bar. I had a couple of glasses of wine at Happy Hour, and it cost a small fortune. Otherwise great value for money in Manhattan.

Modern lobby, friendly staff, available on site concierge. Good lower east location away from MidTown hustle. Two very nice french restaurant-bars steps away downstairs. Rooms were small but clean.

My stay at The Pod Hotel was most satisfying. The staff is always friendly, the hotel is always clean, and the location and price cannot be beat.

Great location, good value for money considering the average price of hotels in NY. The Double bunk room I stayed in was very small.
