San Diego Surfer Beach Hotel

This hotel is extremely affordable. It has all the necessities and great location. Not the most modern hotel but it does the trick.

The location is right on the beach, with shops and restaurants on the block. Stunning views of the Pacific. It was great to be steps away from the beach with good eats! I would stay again.

Surfer Beach had great ocean views from the rooms. It does need a bit updating but for the price you pay, I think it's absolutely worth it.

I took my 6 yo son to San Diego for a weekend vacation. The hotel was centrally located and it was great to be on the beach as well as have access to a pool. Would have been nice to have a restaurant with the hotel. The beds were super comfty, the TV was a large flat screen, the towels were standard, the bathroom and shower were tiny but the water pressure was very low. The amenities were nice and it was great having a small frig in the room. The staff was responsive however they liked to completely satisfy one customer before starting with the next, which can be frustrating when you only need to ask a quick question. I saw 4 staff standing behind the desk but only one staff checking people in - what was with that? They also let the phone ring for a long time if they are helping someone, which is also frustrating. The rooms were standard sized but lacked ventilation. You had to have your balcony doors open for any circulation. I would recommend not staying on the ground floor for this reason. Overall I would return to this hotel simply for it being in a reasonably safe area and right on the beach - cannot beat that!
