the hotel, location and service to patrons is very good and I would stay here again. The decor is simple and modern and the rooms though small are very adequate and nicely decorated. The bar and restaurant are currently not open yet( predict 6 weeks)but having a continental breakfast and coffee included with the booking was great.

I agree with most of the positive reviews I have read about this hotel. The staff was helpful and exceptionally friendly for New York (Syriana sp? in particular). The rooms are small of course, but as others say, this is New York. Compared to Paris, the room we had was large given the price. We followed the advice of other reviewers and paid a little extra for a room on an upper floor, a cityscape balcony. Since the hotel opened about a year ago, everything in the room was fresh and clean, and items like lights, the TV and shower functioned well. We liked the visual styling - the concrete, the black polished plaster over the bed, the hardwood floor, the white walls, and the small splashes of red. The view was great including the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. We also like a hotel that is not huge allowing for a slightly more intimate experience. It is true, however, that Kenmare is an extremely busy street and that the insulation between the rooms and the hall could be a little more generous. If you want quiet perhaps consider another hotel, but this neighbourhood has so many good restaurants, bars, galleries and shops, you won,t want to sleep and when you finally do, the noise won,t bother you, especially on an upper floor.

One of the best neighborhoods in NYC! The hotel is brand new and classy. Got a great opening rate but I am sure it will not be long before the prices go through the roof when everyone figures out how great this place is.
